About This Site
I’m a big believer in writing things down that are important, reviewing them regularly, and revising as needed. That includes writing things down that I think are important about this site. It helps me remember my commitments to myself, and to you, the reader.
I give free, unsolicited advice and share personal opinions here on this blog, which is my personal site. And I share things I am learning about, baked in with my free advice and personal opinions. And even though I try to give the very best free advice I can, I struggle to follow it myself, sometimes. (Although I still think it is good!) Also, I’m not a doctor, nor a lawyer, nor an accountant, nor a journalist, nor a mental health professional. On this site, especially, I’m a student. I’m not representing anyone (including myself) in any professional capacity, nor anyone I work with now, or have ever worked with. It’s just me here, folks, writing about things that catch my interest. I hope you’ll find something here that is useful or entertaining, but people's lives are so deeply individual and contextual, that you may not. In any case, thanks for visiting this site. I am glad you’re here.
I’m not on major social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. I used to be, but social media took up a lot of space in my head, and I need that headspace for writing and general life stuff, so this is where I’m at now.
I quote a lot of different people on this blog. I make an effort to read writers who think differently from me, because I don’t want to be stuck in an algorithmic bubble. Reading people who do not share my assumptions helps me develop my own thoughts better. If I quote someone on this site, it means I’m sharing a quote I like. It does not mean I share all, or even most, of the writer’s views.
I’m writing and learning in public. If you read something here that sparks some ideas, or you want to send me a link to a cool article, book, interview, etc. related to the topics I write about — please email me at howdy at annahavron dot com. I can’t guarantee a timely response, but I do read my email. Thanks in advance for your understanding.
